Dear Sister:

Your letter of the 10th inst., respecting the house which has fallen to your share and the ground upon which it stands, has been received.

When the members of the family met together, the whole of them, so far as they expressed their feelings, thought that your house ought to be turned in and divided with the rest of the property. Had this been carried out, your share would have been much less than it is. But I decided that you were entitled to the house, and I think that, under the circumstances, your share is a pretty good one. You know how you all obtained the house, and I feel assured that by the exercise, in the same direction, of the energy and perseverance you then exhibited, you will be able to raise the means necessary to pay for the land. I see no cause whatever for you to feel discouraged about this matter.

Your Brother,
Brigham Young
