Dear Sister:

Your note of the 7th instant stating your wants and what you would like your husband to do, has been received. I wrote to him about furnishing you a team; his reply was that neither of his other wives nor their children are as comfortably clothed and fed, as you and your children, and they are satisfied without urging him to sell a strip of land anywhere to buy them clothing, cows, pigs, sheep, teams, or anything else. From this it would seem that he does not feel inclined to do anything for you.
