Geo. W. Chamberlain, Esq. U.S. Att'y.
Denver, Col.

Dear Sir:

Your favor of April 13th, giving me the particulars of the murder of J. W. Hanmer, was received while I was absent on a visit to the southern settlements of the Territory. Having just returned I hasten to reply. Please to accept my thanks for your courtesy in this matter.

Some of Mr. Hammer's relatives are here, and are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; he, himself, was not a member of our Church. I have communicated the contents of your letter to his friends; they desire me to express to you their thanks for the interest you have shown.

With Kind regards, I am respectfully
Brigham Young
