Dear Sir:

Your favor of the 14th has been received. Flour varies in price; it is now ranging at $5 and $6 per hundred pounds and wheat at $1.75 and $2 per bushel. Potatoes are about $1 per bushel. Other vegetables range in proportion. Board costs about $8 or $9 per week in private boarding houses. Wages of laborers are from $1.50 to $2.50 and of Mechanics from $2.50 to $4.50.

Accompanying this I forward you an Epitome of our Faith as published in one of our papers.

Respectfully,
Brigham Young
