Dear Brother:

I have spoken to President Young on the matter about which you wrote.

He approves of the idea of Howard going to New York to be operated upon by Dr. Sayres; but he has an idea that it will cost considerable. If you can send him, it will be right and he will have a license or Certificate given him and a Mission assigned him which if a cure be effected, he can fill.

Whenever you decide that he shall go, a letter can then be addressed to him notifying him of his mission, or when he comes to the City he can be told of it.

The President was on a visit to Goshen when your letter arrived or it would be received an earlier answer.

With kind regards
I remain Yours &c.
