Dear Sir:-Your favor making enquiry respecting your joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints has been received and in answer I may say, it would give me pleasure if all mankind would obey the Gospel and use their means and energies supporting the cause of righteousness, then peace on
earth and good will to man would abound.

This people -- the Saints -- are laboring to accomplish these results and they Call on all good and honest men to assist them in their laudable efforts to establish the kingdom of God.
