Gentlemen:
Your note dated 31st ult. enclosing draft on yourselves for one thousand dollars as donation to emigration poor fund, has been duly received.

I thank you in behalf of the poor for your liberality, and if you will name any of the Saints who are in the old Country, that you desire to assist to emigrate I shall be happy to apply the means which you have forwarded to their benefit.
