Since your letter under date 19th inst. urging transfer of certain supplies which were obtained at Fort Casper has been duly received and, while I regret exceedingly that the unavoidable delay has caused considerable inconvenience to Lieut Galbreath. I must at the same time inform you that that amount of bacon was not to be found in this market and I was absolutely compelled to wait until the bacon could be made, hence the delay.

Very Respectfully
Your Obt. Servt
