Mr. Benjamin Riches

Dear bro.

Being attending to the business of President Brigham Young during his absence from the city, I now answer your note of the 25th ult.

Bro William Clayton of this city is generally intrusted by the brethren with the collection of any moneys they may have due to them in Europe, as the business is rather complicated and requires the drawing out and properly authenticating of a power of Attorney &c. before there is any chance of obtaining the money. I therefore refer to you to him. Bro Clayton would no doubt make bro. F. D. Richards at Liverpool your agent to collect the money and he could retain for the benefit of the poor whatever you might be pleased to instruct him to use for that purpose.

Very truly, Your brother.
