Dear brother:-

You have been called and appointed to lead a company to reinstate the settlements in Sevier County. It is desirable that you should start immediately as it becomes important for those who are going to put in grain and make arrangements for this seasons opperations.

Enclosed herewith is a letter of Instructions, and we put in trust that you will be successful in securly establishing the settlements. May God bless, and aid you in being a blessing to others.
