Salt Lake City,
April 9, 1868.

Mr. J. A. Morrow,
North Platte, Nebraska.

Sir:

Your letter of March 13 would have received an earlier reply, but Mr. Rice did not call at my office until this morning, when he stated that he has written two letters to you, has a part of the money on hand and intends forwarding the greater portion of the whole of the amount he owes you during this month and next. He wished me to state to you that he gratefully appreciated your kindness and leniency towards him, still had the mules he bought of you, and would have paid for them ere this, but for the great scarcity of money since his return.

I trust, as he informs me, that he will soon life his note.

Respectfully,
Brigham Young
