Sir:

I have examined the Deseret News, and so far as I have found time to look, have been unable to find printed therein the sermon you mention in your note of the 10th inst. If you will inform me where you saw it published, so that I may have a chance to read it, I shall then be able to determine what I have to say about it. I thank you for your courtesy in this matter, and need not remind you that printing a sermon as mine from a report in which some ideas are added and some deleted, more or less altering and occasionally changing the ideas as they were actually spoken, would not (be) fair and just either to the public or myself.
