Messrs Charles V. Snell & Co.,
100 Madison St., Chicago, Ill.

Gentlemen:

Your favor of May 26th. is to hand, and I at once reply in accordance with your request. Thanking you for the courtesy of your proffer, I have to inform you that I think we have plenty of laborers for my contract on the U. P. R. R., several circumstances having transpired to render the present supply of labor so abundant. S. B. Reed, Esqr., constructing Engineer on the aforenamed road, also informs me that he recently had, in two weeks, 15,000 applicants for work on the road, from which you will readily understand that the labor market west is very liberally supplied.

Respectfully,

Brigham Young
