This certifies that I have rented to you for Twelve months a piece of land having twenty (20) feet front, and being ten (10) rods back, on lot seven (7) in Block Sixty nine (69) S. L. City, with the appurtenances at a monthly rent of Twenty four Dollars, Currency, payable at the expiration of each quarter year from date.

And if you will pay me Twelve Hundred dollars ($1200.00) U S Currency for the above piece of land with the appurtenances anytime from now till the 25th June A D 1869 I will sell & deed the same to you but this offer does not extend for a longer time

To the above, I hereby bind myself, my heirs, administration and assigns.
