Dear bro:

I take opportunity to suggest to you, that it will be necessary at the expiration of the year of your contract, in order to arrive at a settlement between us, for you to take a full and correct inventory of all Stock on hand, both cotton, yarn and everything, just as you did on taking charge of my Factory. At the same time all accounts should be squared, so that the mill owes nothing, and all will be clear and you be able to render a clean balance sheet <before commencing on another year>, which will oblige,

Your brother in the Gospel.
