Sir,

In reply to your favor of the 17th inst: I would state that our country is a very healthy one and in proportion to the amount of sickness we have quite a number of practitioners of various schools as well as dental surgeons, we have also several good drug stores. Rents of offices in the business portion of the City are high.

With regard to the time the Railroad will reach this City, we have at present no certain knowledge; both the Eastern and Western Companies are doing their best to push the work through as quickly as possible, and it is highly probable, we shall hear the snorting of the iron horse, through these valleys before the 4th of next July.
