Several gentlemen who state that they made arrangements with you, when you were last here, to bring on goods for them have called on me regarding thereto. I have advised each and every one of them to act honorably in the matter and take whatever goods they engaged with you to receive, before you returned East. But still we hold it as a self evident fact that we should have the privilege and should trade with our own people.
