Dear Sir

Your favor of the 18th inst is before me. Until its receipt, I was fully impressed with the idea that I had acknowledged the receipt of the pump you so kindly sent me; permit me to now thank you for it.

Owing to a press of other business, I have not yet had an opportunity to erect it, but as soon as I do so I shall esteem it a pleasure to send you a truthful statement of the advantages I gain by its use and give it publicity here.

Messrs Eldredge & Clawson, Merchants of this City I deem very suitable gentlemen to act as your agents in this Territory

I remain, Dear Sir
Very Respectfully.

Brigham Young
