Your favor of the 17th ult regarding your lard oil for woolen machinery is received.

Were it not for the difficulty that at present exists of getting goods brought forward by the Union Pacific R.R. Co. I would at once send you an order, as it is I deem it best to wait until goods can be brought through direct, and without detention at different points on the line.
