Your letter of the 2nd inst has reached me. You should be, and are doubtless well acquainted with the teachings that have been so often reiterated of late with regard to buying goods of those who are not of us. and I do not see any good that would result, either to the people or yourself, that would warrant me in changing the general counsel to suit your desires.

If you wish to enter into business, wait until you can buy of those whom we fellowship.
