Secretary Western Elastic Sponge Co.,
Chicago,

Dear Sir, Your favor of Oct. 6th reached me in due course, but it was not until the 19th inst. that the mattress you so kindly sent me came to hand, for which please accept my sincere thanks. Its passage has been long and tardy owing to the difficulty of getting goods brought forward by the railroad, during the hurry of building the line. We hope for better things when the road is completed, but at present the delays attending the transit of goods from the States to this to this city are really vexacious and injurious to the business relationships that exist between this and the Eastern States.

Again thanking you for the mattrass, the advantages of which I shall take great pleasure in testing.

I remain, Yours respectfully.
Brigham Young
