Mrs. E. McMahon.
Dear Sister,

Your note of today relative to your leaving this country came to hand. In reply, I will say: I am opposed on principle to assisting the saints to leave the body of the Church.

My mission is to preach the gospel, & gather Israel, & until I receive revelation to the contrary, -- my means & that of my brethren will be directed to the gathering of the saints to this country not the sending of them out.

However, if you have any friends, that will assist you; I have no objection to your going back to your native country, or, wherever you wish.

Yours in the Gospel,
Brigham Young
