J.W. Crosby
Rome, Georgia,

Dear Bro:

I received yours of the 31st Dec. & was pleased to hear from you with regard to your labors & the interest manifested by the people in the Work of the Lord. I wish to say it is not expected of you to continue your labors when your health is so very poor; therefore, come home as soon as you can conveniently & comfortably. With regard to the English emigration, I cannot tell you what route they will follow. As to labor on the railroad which you enquire after our portion is nearly completed & we are not employing new hands.

My health is good & that of my immediate associates for which I feel very thankful.

Hoping you will have a safe & speedy return to the bosom of your family.

I remain, Yours, &c
Brigham Young
