Dear Bro.

I received your welcome letter of the 8th inst last evening; & was glad to hear of your progress in the interest of the Society as well as your lecturing in the cause of truth. We rely on your long experience in the character & quality of timber to purchase for our market only those kinds & qualities that will suit. I have sent letters to each of the parties named in your letter, (also called it from the stand) to each have their subscriptions left at my office without delay -- I will forward when received. Thanks to Mr. Thomas Little for the eye-glasses he has done me the honour to present me with. I am happy to inform you that I am in the enjoyment of good health.

Yours in the gospel
Brigham Young
