I received your telegram, touching E.W. Thomson opening his house for outsiders to trade with the brethren.

As this appears, it is astonishing to me that the brethren will not learn wisdom; but will persist in acting so very foolishly. In those who thus break their covenants -- such conduct is sinful.

We will let this rest for the present, Bro. Geo. A. Smith will be along by and by; then, this matter can be brought before him, with such testimony as will bear on the case.
