Gentlemen,
In reply to yours of the 5th inst. for information as to the feasibility of establishing Gas Works &c. in Salt Lake City, I would say that the relative No of houses to the area of Salt Lake City totally precludes the idea of using gas generally at present.

Mr. Beauman of Mooney & East, Gas Engineers Omaha, has made a personal investigation of the subject, & has returned fully convinced to the same effect.

For information as to the character, prosperity & general welfare of our City, Territory, Church & People, I would respectfully refer you to the "Deseret News" a newspaper published daily, semi-weekly & weekly at Salt Lake City
