Sir:-In answer to yours of the 21. applying for a situation; I have to inform you that there is no vacancy in my offices; neither do I know of any clerk-ship or other situation, outside of my office, open, to which I can refer you; -- whether business men need clerks is not known to me, because it does not in a general way, concern me, and I am not in a position to be informed on the subject.
