Dear Sir:-

Owing to the present scarcity of of currency in this market, it will oblige me very much, if you can <do so> to arrange to make payments of my December estimate in Currency. Indeed it is so scarce that the Banks are giving, I understand, a premium for currency of from 3/4 to 1. per cent. rendering it almost impossible for me to procure the amounts necessary to pay the men.
