Dear Bro.

Enclosed please find my Dft No 1540 for £35.14.3 to be paid to Joel Grover, who I understand is laboring in Scotland, & that his lungs are seriously affected. His father sends this money to have him use it in coming home. I have thought however, that if you could find him a place in the south of England, or if he could be removed to the south of England, where it is warmer & dryer, his health would perhaps be improved, so that he could bear the journey better and that if he is obliged to come home, he could do so at a more favorable season than midwinter. I leave this to be decided by the wisdom that may be given to you, and will say that I do not wish any elder retained on the British Isles when there is a probability of the climate proving fatal to him -- all such as you are well aware should be removed to the most favorable localities within the mission, and if necessary sent home to the mountains.

Praying God to bless and guide you continually
I remain Your brother,

Brigham Young
