I have paid my Draft No. 696 for Eight Pounds here, as the enclosed receipt from John McVicar who paid the money into the office will show, altho, as you say, his brother Robert McVicar of Glasgow still holds the draft to be paid to him whenever he shall be ready to emigrate. In consequence of this and similar cases I have changed the wording of my drafts making them payable without conditions as you will perceive. Please publish the enclosed receipt in the 'Star.'

Your brother,
Brigham Young

P.S.
Please advertise in the 'Star' that the McVicar Draft No 696 is cancelled. giving date &c &c for which purpose a duplicate of said Dft is herewith enclosed.
