Sir:

I am in receipt of your favor of the 20th Ult. stating your intention of visiting Salt Lake City with a view to "write up" its business interests &c. & asking whether this will meet with my approbation.

I can only say this is a matter that will chiefly concern our Merchants, who will I have no doubt feel interested in the subject in proportion as it may enhance their commercial interests & who will welcome you accordingly.
