Dear Bro:-

Your highly interesting letter reached me yesterday & I was much pleased to hear from you, as well as with the tone & spirit of your communication. Your remarks with reference to the evanescent theories of Men & their general instability are correct.

The uncertainties in Medical Science notwithstanding the vast amount of study & research devoted to that subject go far to prove how incompetent men are to deal with the human system & its ailments without divine revelation.

General knowledge, however extensive, will never make a man a doctor, it requires also a perception of the peculiarities of the system of the patient & of the true nature of his disease which Medical Science cannot give & can only come from the spirit of revelation.

I will not write you a lengthy letter as Jos. A. Young, John W. & others will give you all the news. They left here on the 15th inst. & will doubtless have seen you before this reaches you.

We will be very glad to see you when you come home.

If you think it a waste of money to purchase a manikin, better not do it.

I am happy to state that my health is good.

Praying God to bless you & preserve you from every evil.

I remain
Yours in the Gospel,

Brigham Young
