Dear Sir:-

I have received so many communications from different parties on the subject of the Iowa City Presbyterian Church Bell that I would like it much if the discussion were amicably ended.

If you really have a claim on the Bell. I hereby notify you, that I will give it up to you or to the first properly authorized person who will produce bona fide proof of ownership & authority to receive it, & who will refund the money expended thereon which is between six and seven hundred dollars.
