Dear Sir:-

Your letter on the subject of Iron ore, -- the manufacture of Iron &c. has been received.

This is a matter in which we have been largely interested though very little has yet been accomplished.

The Iron Works are located some 260 miles from this City, & as soon as we get specimens of the ore here & the statistics required I will forward them to you.
