Dear Bro:--

Yours to President Brigham Young has been received. He has gone to the Cotton Country for a few weeks. In his absence I will not advise you to send a substitute on your Mission. Past experience has proved that however convenient it might be for the person called to send a substitute, it has not been found profitable to the interest of the Mission.

In Two Weeks, however, the president will be home and if he has anything further to add, he will doubtless do so; but I think that a little further effort on your part will enable you to wind up your affairs, & fulfill the requirement in the full faith of an Elder in Israel.

Your Brother in the Gospel
