Mr. J.W. Crosby
Omaha.

Dear Bro:--

Yours of the 4th inst. has only just been read to me as I did not return from the Cotton Country till last evening.

I am pleased to hear of your being on your way home & of the Saints gathering up for this place.

We have made no arrangements yet with the Pacific Railroad Co. but as soon as the Road is thoroughly safe & in steady running order we purpose sending an agent down to negotiate but as the Saints generally, who emigrate, are in poor circumstances, if we cannot make satisfactory terms with the Company, we will have recourse to the old method of transportation.

Under the circumstances I think it will be advisable for you & those who are with you to purchase your outfits & start without further delay.

Your Brother in the Gospel.
