Bishop John Sharp.

Dear Bro:-

I telegraphed to Supt. Reed for the final estimate I received for answer yesterday. "Will send as soon as completed." such an answer is unsatisfactory for no time is mentioned. We want a settlement & to have it, we need the final estimate. I would like very much if something could be done to facilitate this business.

Could you not employ Mr. Bates or such other of the Engineers who have had charge of, or been engaged on the Work & are acquainted with it, & have it measured up without regard to Supt. Reed? We want a settlement, this delay is vexatious in the extreme, & all hands are clamouring loudly for their pay.

Your brother in the Gospel
Brigham Young
