Sir:--

We find that the Survey of our proposed line of Railroad from Ogden to Salt Lake City will cross portions of a few quarter Sections of the land entered by the U. P. R. R. Co. known as the Sand ridge; we wish therefore to know whether the Company will sell to us such quarter sections, and, if so, at how much per acre; or should you prefer it, that portion only of such quarter sections as the road may pass over.
