Dear Bro:-Yours of the 4th inst. with reference to the National Hotel has been received.

I do not know what improvements Bro. Park promised to make, but he had no authority from me to make any at all.

I do not feel disposed to reduce the rent, nor to lay out the entire amount of it in improvements.
