Mr. George Nebeker
Laie Oahu;-- Sandwich Islands.

Dear Bro:-

We have just read your interesting letter & were much pleased to hear of your continued prosperity.

On Saturday myself & a small party returned from a tour through the Settlements in Bear Lake & Cache Vallies, & had a very pleasant time. We preached considerable & met as usual a very warm reception on every hand. The Settlements are becoming quite extensive, & new ones are being formed & the Lord is blessing his people most abundantly.

I am pleased to be able to say that my health is good and that of my immediate associates.

I understand you had a letter from this office of few days ago giving the general news items. Nothing of importance has transpired since. Our people are being considerably entertained by a large circus troupe and Menagerie, which as it is really a fine Exhibition of the kind draws crowded houses to the 8th Ward Square nightly & every alternate day. Those of our people who have not seen anything of the kind, particularly the young, enjoy it hugely.

We would be pleased to have you come home & bring your wife & spend a short time with your family so soon as you can arrange your business to leave it safely. We would like you to bring some Sugar & Molasses with you, and to ascertain with exactness what the facilities are for transportation to this market. The freight to San Francisco & the duties at that port; & the freight from that point to Ogden.

We wish you to ascertain this cost of transportation as correctly as possible that we may be able to make correct calculations, as to whether you can supply this market as cheaply as we can from the east. We can talk more fully on the subject when we meet,

Praying that you may be blessed with wisdom and ability to improve and enlarge on the good work you have commenced; & desiring to be remembered to Sis. Nebeker, & all the brethren.

Your Brother in the Gospel
Brigham Young
