Elder Wm. H. Miles
117 John St. N. Y. City,

Dear Bro:-

Your favor of the 24th ult. has been received; and we were much pleased to hear from you & also to know that you were assisting so effectually in the immigration.

There is one point we wish to urge upon Bro Staines & yourself, & that is, the Passengers must be landed in I understand there was an effort made to land them at Uinta, some seven <miles> from Ogden, notwithstanding the This is not right, we want our emigration landed in Ogden City so their friends can receive them their without having to haul to carry them several miles.

I believe when the matter is properly represented to the Railroad authorities that they will see at once why we are strenuous on this point & forward our Immigration as per contact, right into Ogden City.

Your brother in the Gospel,
Brigham Young
