Dear Brother:

In relation to the contents of your note it will be best for you to get the parties from the North and South of you who are interested in Cove Creek Ranche or who pretend to have <any> claim to any portion of it, together, and to have Bishops Murdock and Callister present and see what is going to be done about it, for if the people of those settlements are going to divide up the Claim to the Ranche, they should understand that they had better first buy out the Claim and the Fort. You certainly cannot afford to have the best portions of the grass-lands & meadow, fenced up by other parties. I trust that it will pass off satisfactorily. The President did <not> think it necessary for me to go down. All are well -- the weather is very warm.

Give my respects to your friends.

Your brother in the Gospel,
Daniel H Wells
