Mr. Stephen H. Goddard,

Dear Sir:-

Yours of yesterday has been received. I know nothing whatever of the threats about burning your house over your head. The only think of the kind that I ever heard of before, was, that for some reason or another you threatened to burn it down yourself; but, however this may be, if you think there is any danger, I certainly advise you to remove your Wife and daughter to some place of safety. All's right, better avoid trouble.

Yours &c.

D. McKenzie
by order of Prest. Young.
