Dear Brother:-

Your letter to B. H. Schettler of the 23rd inst. with ninety seven dollars and seventy five cents is received. As there is a one dollar bill very much mutilated, a large part of it being gone, I have returned
it to you.

Enclosed please find draft No. 1957 on A. Carrington Esq. 42 Islington, Liverpool, England, for thirteen
pounds sixteen shillings & four pence Sterling (£13.16.4) which is equivalent to $96.75 U. S. Currency.

As we invariably make our drafts payable to the order of the party who sends the money, you will please
see that J. P. R. Johnson signs his name under the endorsement which I have written on the back of the
draft before sending it off. Then forward to the person you wish to receive the money which will be paid
to them on presentation.

If you wish to send exactly $97.75 Currency, you can enclose a one dollar bill, which can be easily exchanged in England for Gold, and the risk is small.

Your Bro. in the Gospel

James Jack
