Dear Sister:-I read your letter to the President & although I did not get any definite answer from him relative to the
$250.00, he remarked that he had fitted you out with a good team &c. & had anticipated you would be
able with what you had to make the necessary headway. One thing however, I do know, money is very
scarce indeed & will be probably, until the Railroad Co. pays up which I trust will be at no distant date.
The President started to Provo this morning for several days & I concluded to drop you these few lines
that you might not be kept in suspense.
The President's health is good -- remarkably so-- and the folks generally are well. The weather is
extremely warm & dry but the crops are looking excellent, with ever prospect of a bountiful harvest.
