Yours of the 26th Ult. for information of a Mr. Strong, from whom was named "Strongs Knott" has been
received.

I would be pleased to give you information, but I know nothing of the origin of the name. It is not unlikely, however, that Mr. Carrington, from whom "Carrington's Island" was named, may know something of the matter. That gentleman is in England now, but I am in communication with him & will make the enquiry.
