Mr. J. N. Barker,

Dear Bro:-

Yours of the 5th inst. respecting the Immigration of your parents has been received. It would please me very much to assist all the Saints to emigrate who need assistance, but our funds are now quite exhausted, & whether we will be able to assist any more this season I cannot now tell. It is possible, however that the Railroad Co. may pay up in time for the last of the Immigration, whether or not, we will lose no time in settling with subcontractors, when they do pay. As for the Utah Central, it is understood that as soon as Money is raised on the Bonds, the grading and Ties, will be paid for. Back Immigration fund indebtedness will be credited on this Account, but not the present year's immigration (which costs all money) unless the Utah Central Bonds are disposed of in time.

Your Brother in the Gospel
