Dear Brethren:-

Yours of the 7th has been received. I have no objection whatever to your starting such a paper as you mention in Ogden City, but I do not feel to encourage you in it. The general dulness of the times -- the high cost of Printing Materials & the heavy expenses incident to the publication of a newspaper are serious drawbacks to such an enterprise at the present time, & I am very much afraid you would only swamp yourselves by the undertaking.

Yours in the Gospel

Brigham Young
