Dear Bro.-

On the 3rd inst I forwarded $4000.00 and on the 9th $5000.00 Currency to W. C. Staines, Agent, New York city, (P. O. box 3918.)

Enclosed is copy of my letter to br. Staines of 9th inst. by which you will perceive you will have to credit this office, and charge to him, the above sums; and get a view of our prospects for remitting you further sums, which remain as yet quite poor.

B Young's Dft. No 1976 for Three Shillings and Three Pence is enclosed, which will balance the acct. which you forwarded against him (W. S. Godbe)

We have had a very hot and dry summer; but the weather is moderating now.

Your brother,

T. W. Ellerbeck,
Clk for T. in Trust.
