Dear bro:-

In reply of your Clerk A. W. Carlson to my letter to you of 2d July last it is stated as follows.

"Since last September bro. Carrington has paid of "Pres. Young's drafts to the amount of £4848. 4. 111/2 and only drawn on him £1616.19.10 making a difference of £3231. 5. 1 making no mention of the draft which was sent you (thro the Banking House of Cisco & Son N. Y.) on the 27th January for Twenty five Thousand (25000) dollars, of which you were advised at foot of B. Young's letter of advice of dfts on you <dated> Jan. 27. 1869, showing that we were remitting money to meet the drafts drawn here upon you. I hope you wont omit to credit the office here with the Twentyfive Thousand Dollars aforesaid, as well as all money which we send to W. C. Staines on your acct. which is as follows.-- Aug 3 <1869> $4000.00 Currency. Aug 9, 5000.00 Currency 24. 2000.00 do 27. 5000.00 do Total Sixteen Thousand ($16000.00) Dollars, which will help you some. and is all the money we have or may have to send this season, and trust that if the money at your command be not sufficient to forward the persons ordered out by the President, that you will be able to get the necessary accommodation at the Bank where you deposit, at a low rate of interest for a few months. It will be an outrage on the people here if we manage our financial matters in such a way as not to fulfill our promises to them -- I mean the President's promises, in relation to bringing out that list of persons which was sent to you in the latter part of July.

Hoping that you will be able to do everything required at your hands with honor and that you may be blessed in your labors, I remain

Your brother in the Gospel
